A Responsibility Born from a Journey
During my frequent travels abroad, one thought kept returning to me:
“Our people should be able to enjoy the authentic flavours of home, with the cleanliness and quality they expect, wherever they live.”
The sweets and savouries we grew up enjoying carry memories, comfort and a connection to home. I wanted those familiar flavours to reach our people with the same care and quality they deserved. Over time, that wish grew into a personal responsibility.
That responsibility gave life to Ramana Iyer Sweets & Snacks.
Our name carries both inspiration and trust.
“Ramana” reflects our admiration for Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi of Tiruvannamalai. His peace, purity and simplicity inspired the values we wanted to bring into our work.
I grew up in a village where the words “Iyer kadai” brought to mind good taste, cleanliness and trust. We chose “Iyer” to carry forward that personal connection, along with the responsibility to honour the trust behind it.
My business partner comes from a family with five generations of catering experience. Their legacy includes Radhalakshmi Catering, Annapoorani Kitchens and Srirangam Murali Coffee. Their experience, combined with our shared purpose, gave this venture a strong foundation.
We wanted to maintain the standards of cleanliness and quality we believed in, consistently. To take responsibility for that process, we decided to make our products ourselves.
This led us to establish our manufacturing unit at Bikshandar Kovil Agraharam, No. 1 Tollgate, Trichy.
Our purpose is clear: prepare our sweets and savouries with hygiene as a priority and without compromising on quality. We aim to serve our local community first and, with the trust we earn, gradually bring these flavours to people around the world.
